We are currently seeking an experienced casual Master IV to join our operations here in South-East Queensland, Redland Bay.

These key requirements will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Master less than 35m Certificate of Competency – Essential
  • MED 3 or Higher - Desirable
  • Senior First Aid - Essential
  • Driver’s License - Essential
  • Demonstrated leadership skills - Essential
  • Strong verbal communication skills

About the role

 

This casual position in our team creates an opportunity for you to join an award-winning tourism and transport company with an excellent reputation in quality products and professional customer service.

This exciting position requires a person who is energetic, motivated and enthusiastic and who has the flexibility to meet operational demands.

 

The Master will be responsible for the daily efficient operation of the extensive fleet consisting of vehicle barges and fast ferries whilst maintaining excellence in safety, reliability and customer service at all times. The primary function of the role is the safe and secure operations and navigation's of the vessel and to ensure the health and safety of all passengers and crew on board.

 

This position requires a strong leader, with a high standard of interpersonal and organisational skills and effective written and verbal communication skills as well as proven safe ship handling and management skills.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous experience leading a fast-paced team with diverse responsibilities. 

 

The Master must ensure the vessel maintains compliance with all relevant local laws and company policies and is responsible for the implementation and verification of the Safety Management System on board.

 

This role requires leadership, energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling and time management.

 

This is a casual position.
