About Us

The PS Murray Princess is the largest inland paddle wheeler in the Southern Hemisphere.  Accommodating a maximum of 120 guests and operating 3, 4 and 7 night cruises on the Murray River from Mannum, 87 kilometres from Adelaide, this stunning vessel attracts guests from all over Australia and the world.

• Food safety course/training - Desirable
• Previous experience in a similar role

All meals and on-board accommodation on board the Murray Princess when rostered on duty are included. Transport from Adelaide CBD to Mannum is provided at no cost if required.  

About the role

The Chef 2 is an integral position in the hospitality operations on the Murray Princess. The Chef 2 primary function is to assist food services in the galley and dining room to company standards and in accordance with safe food handling guidelines.

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Chef 2 is responsible to prepare, cook and serve company meals for passengers and crew. The Chef 2 works in close conjunction with the Head Chef in the supervision and guidance of food service staff and to delegate authority where required to enable hygienic, timely and nutritious food service.

The Chef 2 is expected to ensure that schedules are adequately serviced and that the Galley and all its appliances, storage areas and fridges/freezers are clean and sanitized at the end of every shift in accordance with health regulations and company policy.

Currently, the Chef 2 is on a rotating roster of 14.5 days on / 13.5 off and may be required to work outside of these hours on occasions during periods of annual leave and maintenance requirements. Roster will include alternative day breakfast shifts.

This role requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, and multi-skilling and time management.  You MUST be able to manage a fast paced and often a pressured environment.
