About The Role
The COO provides oversight to all operational aspects of the SeaLink Travel Group Australian bus operations, and is responsible for the effective management and leadership of its General Managers. The Australian bus operations comprise all of the Australian public transport operations of Transit Systems, with over 2500 buses across 32 depots in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria and Northern Territory.
The COO provides oversight of Contract Management, Operations, People Leadership, Fleet Maintenance, Marketing, Product and Business Development, Financial Management, Risk Management and WHS as it relates to the Australian Bus Group. The role is also the liaison person between the Business Units and Corporate Services including the Group CEO, Finance, IT, Legal and HR. In conjunction with the Group CEO, CDO and General Managers the COO identifies and investigates new business and product opportunities.
Reporting to the Group CEO of SeaLink Travel Group, the COO will be a member of the Executive Team.
This position may be based in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth, to be determined with the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will be an experienced strategic leader, bringing to the team a commercial mindset and the ability to develop a long term strategic plan for our bus operations.
To take the challenge you will be a Degree qualified COO/General Manager, demonstrating successful management of a large business over multiple locations. You will have a collaborative style of leadership.
You will demonstrate experience and skills in the following areas:
- Senior Executive Experience, preferably in the public transport industry
- Experience in the management and development of commercial enterprises
- Leadership experience with multi-disciplinary teams
- Able to deal with complexity and make timely and sound decisions.
- Experience in change management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - A team player able to provide direction to, connect with and influence people.
- Experience reviewing and manipulating bus service plans and scheduling outcomes
- Sound knowledge of the political processes that may impact on the business
- Strong financial management experience
- Proven negotiation and facilitation skills.
- A strong customer and consumer focus orientation
