An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time Payroll Officer to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team working in one of Australia's most dynamic travel companies with experience in processing multiple payrolls throughout the business with varied industrial instruments.

 

About the Role

 

Based in Adelaide and reporting to the Team Leader, Payroll, this role will work collaboratively in managing all payroll functions ensuring timely and accurate processing of end to end payroll and payroll related administration. 

 

In addition to the above, the role will have responsibility for the following:

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of payroll and staff records; including processing new starters, terminations, and payroll adjustments
  • Processing end to end weekly and fortnightly payrolls in Meridian Payroll software for multiple legal entities in Australia
  • Maintenance and utilisation of TimeTEQ (Time and Attendance System)
  • Assisting with the interpretation and ensuring correct application of Enterprise Agreements (EA), Awards, and Employment Contracts
  • Application of CPI and FWC - calculation of rates
  • Support staff and management payroll queries
  • Helping with monthly reconciliations and journals
  • Calculation and lodgement of payroll liabilities including payroll tax, group tax, super and WorkCover
  • Actively maintaining and supporting HR systems and initiatives

About You

 

We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of payroll practices and their application. Appropriate qualifications in a Business related discipline or Human Resource related discipline will be well regarded. 

 

The successful applicant must possess the following characteristics and experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a payroll capacity
  • Demonstrated experience with end to end payroll processing and HR assistance experience
  • Experience in using Accounting Software (Accpac)
  • High level of attention to detail, analytical skills & accuracy
  • Logical thinking/problem solving
  • Strong time management, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate with key stakeholders of all levels
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Experience in Meridian Micropay
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as with a degree of autonomy
  • Adaptability to change
