HSE Coordinator

SeaLink South East QLD which is a part of SeaLink Travel Group, is currently seeking a professional and highly motivated person to fill the position of HSE Coordinator to be based in our Cleveland office. The position will oversee the HSE requirements of SeaLink South East QLD operations, including Stradbroke Ferries, Southern Moreton Bay Island Ferries and Moggill River Ferry.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the HSE Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Developing the HSE Management System and Vessel Safety Management Systems.
  • Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture.
  • Promoting a safe working environment and the ongoing development of risk management processes.
  • Continually improving Management and Employee education and awareness.
  • Managing HSE and marine safety training needs.
  • Monitoring changes and amendments to legislation and updating systems accordingly.
  • Managing incident reporting and investigation and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Managing emergency response and critical incident planning.
  • Managing the drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Undertaking vessel and workplace inspections, risk assessments and internal audits.
  • Analysing trends in HSE performance and work with Management to drive continual improvement.
  • Managing workers compensation claims and injury management process.
  • Possess strong drive and determination on driving Workplace Health and Safety initiatives
  • The ability to be a strong team player a have the desire and passion to develop and grow Workplace Health and Safety with SeaLink South East QLD.
  • Demonstrate ongoing motivation, strong attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills.

 

 To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:

 

  • Strong knowledge and experience of Workplace Health and Safety Systems
  • Strong knowledge and experience of driving Workplace Health and Safety plans (both at a strategic and operational level)
  • The ability to drive successful Health and Safety outcomes, results and maintain strong working relationships with team members across the business.  
  • Up to date on all Workplace Health and Safety laws, regulations and best practice in Workplace Health and Safety
  • Possess strong drive and determination on driving Workplace Health and Safety initiatives
  • The ability to be a strong team player and have the desire and passion to develop and grow Workplace Health and Safety with SeaLink South East QLD.
  • Demonstrate ongoing motivation, strong attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills.

 

The successful applicant will have a Certificate IV or higher in Workplace Health and Safety. Knowledge of the Australian Maritime Safety is desirable however we will consider candidates in a similar role from the transport, construction and manufacturing industry.
