Key responsibilities…

  • Conduct daily testing and monitoring of the Resort Waste Water Treatment Plant, Powerhouse and Water supply infrastructure.
  • Actively follow all Workplace Health and Safety procedures and practices consistent with legislative requirements and regulation
  • Ensure all electrical and other compliance practices are in place
  • Implement long and short range capital works programs and preventive maintenance programs to ensure property standards are maintained
  • Prioritise allocation and control of tasks for the maintenance staff
  • Meet critical timelines to meet the performance needs of the Maintenance Department
  • Organise a daily team work plan for your staff at the morning planning time meeting
  • Do all daily resort routine compliance checks for government requirements
  • Check daily Resort maintenance work book for daily jobs requiring attention for general resort and rooms maintenance
  • General daily support looking for any potential Safety issue whilst on the job
  • Overseeing yard and daily garbage removal to council waste area
  • Observe Workplace Health and Safety procedures for all staff
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people especially across other departments in the resort team and the Group Maintenance Manager.
  • Daily Pool chemical testing and overseeing routine maintenance and cleaning of pools
  • Overseeing stores trucks deliveries twice a week
  • Ordering stock, materials including hardware supplies, chemicals, PPE and consumables used in the department and controlling their distribution
  • Organise a daily team work plan for your staff at the morning planning time meeting
  • Call outs when needed for jobs after finished daily shifts
  • Liaise with Kingfisher Bay Resort Group maintenance manager regarding trades work required at Eurong Beach Resort that needs their involvement
  • Do monthly one on ones with staff of the department
  • Maintain current, all entries in operational plans for the department
  • Approve all shifts recorded by team members and compile fortnightly rosters for your staff
  • Observer Workplace Health and Safety procedures

 A few essentials about you…

  • Previous experience in Maintenance Management/handyman/trade work and gardening/horticulture – highly regarded
  • Previous people management experience in a similar environment
  • Knowledge of general maintenance repairs, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, air conditioning
  • Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety Guidelines
  • Advanced communication and organisation skills
  • Experience in living and working in a remote location essential
  • Have a professional outlook in the workplace and show an invested interest in the hustle and bustle of the Hospitality & Tourism industry
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed customer expectations
  • Ability to multitask
  • Great time management skills and proven ability to demonstrate initiative in the workplace
  • Immaculate personal grooming and presentation

A few simple role requirements…

  • A valid Police Clearance (within 6 months or less), or the ability to obtain one for work
  • Valid forklift licence
  • Skid steer ticket highly desirable
  • Valid HR Truck licence
  • The ability to relocate into the Staff Village on Fraser Island for work
  • The ability to work across a broad rostering system, over a 14 day working fortnight
