ABOUT THE ROLE:

Join Kelsian Group Limited as the Executive General Manager, Operations, a strategic leadership role at the forefront of operational excellence and growth initiatives. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will collaborate with Managing Directors to optimise efficiency, foster growth, and drive continuous improvement across our national business units.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership and support to Managing Directors, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Managing Directors to identify synergies and opportunities for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business unit performance and drive improvements.
  • Drive operational efficiency through your data skill set, streamline processes, and implement best practices for enhanced performance.
  • Oversee business planning, assess proposed initiatives, and align business units' activities with national objectives.
  • Collaborate with Managing Directors to address operational challenges and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Negotiate Enterprise Agreements and liaise effectively with unions and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress towards strategic goals, track performance, and implement adjustments or corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to business unit leaders, promoting collaboration, high performance, and accountability.
  • Establish and monitor budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met while driving operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and operational performance to stakeholders.
  • Lead change initiatives, driving the adoption of national goals and strategies within business units.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Business, Finance or similar.
  • Significant leadership experience, particularly in an operational executive role.
  • Strong understanding and experience in safety systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing multiple business units within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence and implementing best practices.
  • Previous experience in developing and managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong trusting relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate a clear vision.
  • Aptitude in effective decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to travel nationally within Australia at any time, with hybrid work flexibility.

 

DESIREABLE SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the national transport network and its operations and inter-relationships.
  • Logistics and transport experience.
