The Opportunity

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our culinary team at Kingfisher Bay Resort. We are looking for a Trade Qualified Demi Chef ready to relocate to K'gari (Fraser Island), in North Queensland. This is a full-time salary position working 38 hours per week on a rotating roster. 

About the Role

The Demi Chef is responsible for cooking and serving general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and direction from the Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef. 

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a passion for cooking and a drive to exceed expectations. You will need to have experience in Asian cooking so you can support our kitchen team in the Dune Restaurant. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, committed to delivering exceptional service and contributing to the overall success of our resort. This role requires you to move and live on the island at Kingfisher Bay Resort

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent higher education (required)
• Food Safety Course (Essential)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Minimum 2-years in a demi chef role (preferred)
• The ability to work across a broad rostering system
• Advanced communication and organisational skills
• Efficient and effective time management skills
• Demonstrated experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
• Previous experience within multi outlet resort / hotel environment
