SeaLink Travel Group is Australia’s largest marine tourism and transport Group.  With over 1,100 staff across Australia they service more than 8 million customers annually.  Their performance since listing on the ASX in 2013 has been outstanding and their turnover is now exceeding $200 million p.a.  This newly created role offers the opportunity for an experienced Software Engineering expert to make a difference to each of the divisions that make up SeaLink Travel Group.

The Technical Lead (Digital Channels) will be responsible for the design and delivery of SeaLink’s eCommerce capability as we expand and strengthen our offerings throughout our Australian and International markets. SeaLink operates a significant on-line presence and is rapidly growing through our tourism partner B2B networks, APIs, mobile, social and other emerging digital channels. This role will utilise cutting-edge technology to deliver core capability growth to an innovative and entrepreneurial organisation.

Your area of responsibility will be:

Design, Development and integration of technology solutions geared to drive ongoing business growth and automation.

Work within SeaLink’s Agile development process to add capability to our range of public-cloud (AWS) IT services.

Extend the reach and efficiency of our customer and distribution digital channels.

Provide technical leadership to your peers throughout the digital channels domain.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a senior developer, ideally on customer-facing distributed applications.
Expertise in Ruby on Rails, Free/Open-Source Software or an enterprise software platform

eCommerce software development experience.

Commercial experience within the tourism industry is preferred

Highly effective interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with internal / external stakeholders.
